Trade program

Atelier Mole operates within a framework of precision and exclusivity, serving professionals who recognize the value of material specificity. The Designer Wallcoverings trade program is structured to align with the atelier’s ethos of curatorial rigor, ensuring that every interaction reflects the integrity of 1960s-era pattern as a material force. This program is not a catalog; it is a system of access, calibrated for those who require depth, accuracy, and a direct relationship with the source.

Eligibility and Access

The program is reserved for designers, architects, and contractors engaged in projects requiring exacting material standards. Qualification is determined through a vetting process that prioritizes professional track record, project scope, and alignment with the atelier’s curatorial principles. Participants are granted access to a restricted inventory, ensuring that samples and products remain exclusive to those who can deploy them with intent.

Memo Samples and Evaluation

Memo samples are dispatched upon request, following a formal application process. Each sample is accompanied by a detailed specification sheet, including material composition, scale, and historical context. Recipients are required to return the sample within 14 days, unless an extension is granted for evaluation purposes. This process ensures that only those who can engage meaningfully with the material receive it, maintaining the atelier’s focus on purposeful curation.

Lead Times and Production

Standard lead times for production range between four and six weeks, depending on the complexity of the design and availability of the original source material. Custom-print requests, when approved, may extend lead times by an additional four to eight weeks. Variability is inherent to the process, reflecting the atelier’s commitment to fidelity over efficiency.

Terms and Payment

Approved participants are extended NET-30 terms, contingent upon a history of timely fulfillment and adherence to the program’s guidelines. Invoices are generated upon shipment, with payment due within 30 days of receipt. Non-compliance with payment terms results in immediate suspension of access to the program and inventory.

Custom-Print Availability

Custom-print options are available for select designs, subject to approval by the atelier’s curatorial team. Requests must include a detailed project description, scale requirements, and proof of prior engagement with the atelier’s material archive. Custom-print production is limited to a maximum of three iterations per design, ensuring that the integrity of the original pattern is preserved.

Designer Wallcoverings: The Parent Relationship

Designer Wallcoverings, established in 1996, provides the infrastructure and historical context for Atelier Mole’s operations. As a parent entity, it supplies the design trade with a legacy of material research, ensuring that every product meets the standards of archival accuracy and technical precision. The relationship is symbiotic: Atelier Mole’s curatorial focus feeds into Designer Wallcoverings’ broader inventory, while the parent entity ensures logistical continuity, real sample access, and direct human oversight for every inquiry.
